一、

多數單音節的形容詞只要加上-er
便成為比較級(smaller, taller)；加上
-est，並在字前加 “the”便成為最高級(the
smallest, the tallest) 了； |

但遇到以下兩種形容詞，便必須用more
或 the most 來表示比較級形式或最高級形式了:

- 兩個音節而末端有-ing(e.g.
boring),-ed(e.g.
tired),
-ful(e.g.
useful) 或 -less(e.g.
careless) 的形容詞； |

- 所有三個音節或以上的形容詞 (e.g. difficult,
beautiful, comfortable...)。 |
