A. Common Errors :

1. My mother loves I.
2. They are naughty. I don't like their.
My mother loves me.
They are naughty. I don't like them.
“I”及“me”中文同譯作“我”,但在英文,“I”、“you”、“we”、“they”、“he”、“she”及“it”這類代名詞多會放於句子開始或動詞之前的位置,例如:
  (例一) I like chocolates.
  (例二) He cooks breakfast.
  (例三) She eats the food.

而 “me”、“you”、“us”、“them”、“him”、“her”及“it”這類代名詞,則會放在動詞以後 (即句子中間或尾部的位置),例如:
(例一) Mary plays with him. (“play”是動詞)
(例二) Dad takes her to the park. (“take”是動詞)
(例三) They are too noisy. The man doesn't like them. (“like”是動詞)

“my(我的)”、“your(你的)”、“our(我們的)”、“their(他/它/牠們的)”、“his(他的)”、“her(她的)”及“its(它的)”這類字與以上代名詞十分相似,容易被混淆。 “my”、“their”等字會放於人物或物件前,以說明物件是屬於哪人的,如中文的“我的鉛筆”(my pencil)一樣,例如:
  (例一) This is my dog.
(例二) They bought a book. This is their book.
